Dogs in snow

whole lot of winter.  hiking and skiing in the truckee meadows

Duke gets weird at Tahoe Donner, Longboard Races, and snow bonfires.

Rainbows in Chester, sunrise on Lake Tahoe, and rock art in the Pah Rahs

the big one

So far this winter has been epic.  Floods, snow, more flooding, more shoveling.  Last weekend, we took a quick ski trip to Mammoth with some friends to check out the snow.  Mammoth is definitely buried.

A few shots of the Truckee River flooding and folks watching the flood.

When the roads are open and the wind isn't blowing 100mph, the skiing has been amazing.  Sometimes storm days can be perfect for some sketchy backcountry skiing in the Reno foothills.

fall

cutting some firewood.  dogs misbehaving.  fall colors.  halloween in virginia city.

so happy we finally got some rain.  finally safe to burn all the tree cutting mess.  bonfire night hijinks.

The road into Warner valley has about 4 feet of snow on it.  Perfect opportunity to test out the snowmo and search out some backcountry skiing routes.

backpacking in the Sierras

Spent last weekend backpacking and exploring in the five lakes basin.   Beautiful scenery, a sierra storm, and a super bright full moon.
